About Noor & More
Learn about Noor & More’s mission to create inclusive social experiences, peer connection, and community support.
At the heart of Noor & More is Noor. She experienced oxygen deprivation around the time of her birth, resulting in a brain injury that led to cerebral palsy. Since then, she has spent her life working toward milestones many people never have to think twice about. As her sister, I’ve watched her push through physical therapy to stand for a few more seconds or take one more step, counting quickly under her breath and lighting up whenever she beat her own record.
Throughout the seven years Noor attended high school, one of the most meaningful parts of the experience was simply being around other people. School gave her a routine, a community, and a sense of belonging. During those years, I also used to set up a little class for her every Friday where we worked on the alphabet, numbers, the value of money, and quizzes I made for her. Outside of school, I brought her along with me and my friends, took her on walks, and made sure she still had opportunities to be around others and feel included.
As we got older, I began to notice how much harder it became for Noor to hold onto friendships and have the same social experiences as everyone else. People she cared about became busy with their own lives, while she was often left waiting for someone to call, visit, or include her. It made me realize that young people with disabilities need more than care, therapy, and appointments. They also deserve real friendships, new experiences, independence, and a community where they feel genuinely welcomed.
That realization became Noor & More. What began with my love for my sister grew into a mission to create the opportunities she and so many other young people with cerebral palsy deserve. Noor’s name is at the center of this organization, but its purpose reaches beyond her: to make sure teens and young adults with cerebral palsy have places to connect, belong, and experience more.
